William Edward "Billy" McClure, age 62, of Anderson, SC, dedicated husband to Phyllis Bowman McClure, passed away Sunday, June 20, 2021, at his residence. Born March 30, 1959, in Anderson, SC, he is the son of Webb Wendell McClure, Sr., and Barbara Burgess McClure. Billy was a member of Covenant Baptist Church. He worked at Michelin Tire with 42 years of service and was a Michelin MET Member. He served his community with the Center Rock Fire Department for 38 years, 20 of those as Chief. Above all he enjoyed time with his family, especially camping with his five grandsons. Billy's most treasured accomplishments in life were his family, friends, and community. In addition to his loving wife Phyllis, he is survived by his sons, Jason Webb McClure (Megan), and Andy McClure; daughter, Jordan McClure Freeman (Josh); sister, Teresa McClure Johnson (Chuck); and five grandchildren, Maddox McClure, Ryan McClure, Mason McClure, Collin Freeman, and Cole Burden. He was preceded in death by his brother, Webb Wendell McClure, Jr., and grandparents, Bill and Ruby McClure, and Ed and Eddie Mae Burgess. The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 23, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Thursday, June 24, 2021, at 12:00 p.m. at Covenant Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Silvey officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
