GERALD McCONNELLApril 1, 1945 - March 20, 2012ANDERSON, SCWilliam Gerald McConnell, age 66, husband of Kelly Cooley McConnell, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at the Rainey Hospice House.Born in Greenville, SC, he was the son of James William 'Jim' McConnell and the late Stella Southerland McConnell. He proudly served his country as a Vietnam veteran in the US Army. He retired from AnMed Health where he worked as an electrical engineer. He was an avid fisherman. In addition to his father and wife, Gerald is survived by his sons, Wayne, Jeff, and J. P. McConnell; brother, J. Randall McConnell; 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.Graveside Services will be held Friday, March 23, 2012, at 3:00pm at M. J. 'Dolly' Cooper Veteran Cemetery with the Reverend Dr. Ron Fousek officiating. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home prior to the service from 1:00 pm until 2:15 pm.
