William Edward Myers, age 80, passed away Sunday, July 24 at Rainey Hospice House after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Frank Myers and Ella Pearl Dancy Myers and his first wife of twenty seven years, Patricia Ann McAlister Myers. Surviving are his beloved wife Kathleen Page Myers, his daughter Joni Gaston (Kelley), son William Daniel Myers (Ann), daughter Donna Hiott (Allen), daughter Pam Kelly (Ned), son Scott Ayers of Texas, daughter Alisa Kay Sloan (Glen) of Georgia, and son Kelly Ayers; Grandchildren, Brandon Cox (Whitney), Bradley Cox (Tammy), Bill Myers (Melissa) of CA, Drake Myers (Meredith), Charles Timms III (Brooke), Rocky Timms (Estephanie), Gini Hiott Yates (Larry ), Kristina Hiott, Caroline Bridges (Justin), Hannah Milford (Bradye), of GA Olivia Sloan of GA, Madelyn Dickson (Todd) of TX and Michael Ayers of TX. He is also survived by 20 great grandchildren and his sister Frances Ballew (Osborne) of Greenville. Ed was born in Greenville SC where he lived until the early sixties when he and his father opened Frank Myers Motors Volkswagen/ Mazda Dealership in Anderson. He retired from there in 1998. Ed was an active member of Boulevard Baptist Church where he formerly served as deacon, Sunday School Superintendent SS teacher, and member of the Senior Adult Choir. He was a member of the Adult V Men's SS Class. Ed was known for his zest for life, love of his Lord and his family and friends. He made everyone he met feel special. He was lovingly known by his grandchildren and friends as "Buddy Ed". The family will be at the home of son, Danny Myers, 300 Stephen King Drive, Anderson, SC 29621 and will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.at Boulevard Baptist Church. The Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Boulevard Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Johnny F. McKinney officiating.
