William Henry Norwood, Jr. Anderson, SC William Henry Norwood, Jr., age 76, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2015, at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born in Stephens, GA, on May 1, 1938, he was the son of the late William Henry Norwood, Sr. and the late Hattie Hammond Norwood. William was a 1957 graduate of Crescent High School, which was the first graduating class of the school. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps for four years, becoming a disabled veteran following honorable discharge. He worked for many years and retired from BASF. He is survived by his loving wife, Joann Gillespie Norwood; children, William Scott Norwood and his wife Tess, of Anderson, SC, Will Norwood, of San Francisco, CA, and Kelly Phillips and her husband Steve, of Starr, SC; sisters, Esta Norwood Burton, of Iva, SC and Kathryn Norwood Egri, of Plainville, CT; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and his faithful furry companion, "Sammy". In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Stesney Norwood Turner; a son, Barry Norwood; sisters, Margaret N. Parnell, Maleecy N. Johnston; and brothers, Leslie, Henry L., Jeams, Mason, and Jack Norwood. The Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. at Iva City Cemetery.
