OBITUARYFLAGMR. WILLIAM H. PARNELL SR.February 15, 1934 - January 13, 2007IVA, SCMr. William 'Bill' H. Parnell Sr., age 72, husband of Ann Harbin Johnson Parnell of 1505 Antreville Hwy., Iva, SC, died Friday, January 13, 2007 at the Hospice House.Born in Laurens County, Mr. Parnell was a son of Mildred Nixon Parnell of Iva, SC and the late Albert Lester Parnell. He was retired from Milliken Company Sharon Plant in Abbeville, SC as a Customer Service Representative and he was a 1952 graduate of Antreville High School. He was a member the Gideons International, Starr-Iva Camp and was a member of the Unity Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. After his retirement he was a faithful volunteer for ten years for Meals on Wheels and was a school bus driver for Anderson district three for six years. Mr. Parnell was a United States Army veteran.In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by his sons, Rev. Bill Parnell Jr. and his wife Janet of Anderson, Danny Parnell and his wife Michelle of Starr, SC and Kevin L. Johnson also of Iva; daughters, Lorie P. Lawing and her husband Bill and Karen Johnson, both of Anderson; brothers, John Parnell of Iva and James Parnell of Level Land; sisters, Alma Palmer of Greenville and Mildred Robison of Anderson, and eleven grandchildren, Lauren, Jamin and Nicole Parnell, Nelson Ramey, Mason Lawing, Scott, Justin, Ashley and Drew Parnell, Joshua Bennett and Matthew Osborne.In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his first wife, JoAnn Peace Parnell, and a sister, Juanita Tate.The Funeral Service will be held 11:00 am on Monday, January 15, 2007 at The McDougald Funeral Home Chapel officiated by the Reverend Lloyd Robison, Reverend Bill Parnell and Robert Wiles.
