William Riley Pruitt, Jr., age 95, of Anderson, SC, passed away Sunday, September 10, 2023, at Rainey Hospice House. Born December 19, 1927, in Anderson, he was the son of the late William Riley Pruitt and Annie Pruitt. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Dot M. Pruitt; second wife, Lucille S. Pruitt; daughter, Toni Pruitt Edge; 2 brothers and 3 sisters. William was a postal carrier with the United States Postal Service for over 20 years, retiring in 1988. He is survived by his son, William Riley Pruitt, III of Montevideo, MN, daughters, Donna Hopper (Mike) of Snellville, GA, and Patricia P. Cruell (Larry) of Taylors, SC; 6 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. The family will receive friends Thursday, September 14, 2023, from 11:30 am until 12:45 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm in the Chapel with Rev. Dwight Greene officiating. Burial will follow at New Silver Brook Cemetery.
