Obituary

WILLIAM P. SKELTON October 31, 1934 - September 5, 2012 William P. Skelton, age 77, of Folkston, GA, died at the Charlton Memorial Hospital in Folkston on September 5, 2012. Born in Seneca, SC, he was the son of the late Hoyt Preston Skelton and the late Annie Christine Treadaway Skelton. Mr. Skelton was a building contractor for his entire professional career working in many different parts of the country building homes, hotels and apartments. He proudly served his country in the US Army. He is survived by his wife of over 55 years, Myrtle Virginia Newman Skelton of Folkston, GA; a son, William Preston Skelton, Jr., of Hagerstown, MD; a daughter, Brenda Lee Warren and her husband Kevin of Phoenix, AZ; a brother Tommy L. Skelton of Anderson; a sister Bobbie Sue Floyd and her husband, Billy, of Townville. Mr. Skelton is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Skelton Bouzek, a son Thomas Linwood Skelton, and a brother Hoyt P. Skelton, Jr. A Graveside Service celebrating the life of Mr. Skelton will be held Monday, September 10, 2012, at 3 PM, at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Anderson, SC, with Rev. Dwight Greene officiating. The committal service will be followed by Military Honors at grave side. The family is at the home of Bobbie and Billy Floyd in Townville,SC, and will receive friends at Oaklawn following the service.
