WILLIAM THEO SMITH January 13, 1918 - September 6, 2007ANDERSON, SCMr. William Theo Smith, age 89, husband of Edna McAbee Smith of 100 Canebrake Drive, Anderson, SC, died Thursday, September 6, 2007 at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.Born in Anderson County, SC on January 13, 1918, Mr. Smith was a son of the late Theodore Columbus Smith and Vera Corrine Harris Smith. He was retired from J. P. Stevens Mills after 28 years of service. He was a United States Army World War II veteran and was a member of Central Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Edna McAbee Smith of the home and two brothers, Joseph O. Smith of Anderson and William W. Smith of Westminster.He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Elizabeth Valentine. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2007 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with the Reverend Rick Baldwin officiating. Interment will follow in Corinth #2 Baptist Church Cemetery.The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, September 8, 2007 from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm.The family will be at the residence.The family respectfully request that flowers be omitted and memorials be made to Central Baptist Church, 708 West Whitner Street, Anderson, SC 29624 or Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
