SUMP May 4, 1934 - June 22, 2010ANDERSON, SCWilliam 'Bill' Kenneth Sump, age 76, husband of Joann Emma Bednar Sump of Anderson, died on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at the Rainey Hospice House.Born in Cleveland, Ohio on May 4, 1934, Mr. Sump was a son of the late Adelbert A. Sump and Olive Langner Sump. He was a graduate of Lakeland College in Ohio and served in the United States Air Force from 1952 until1956. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. and Marine Corps League. Mr. Sump retired from Gould, Inc., Ocean Systems Division and was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church.In addition to his wife of 51 years, he is survived by a son, Robert J. Sump of Euclid, Ohio; a brother, A. Richard Sump; a sister, Gloria Balash; two grandchildren, Kari Kennedy and Jeff Beerer and two great-grandchildren, Caleb Kennedy and Camden Kennedy.He was predeceased by a daughter, Karen Beerer.A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with the Reverend Dr. William R. Childs officiating. Innichement of his ashes will follow at M. J. 'Dolly' Cooper Veterans Cemetery will full Military Honors provided by the Upstate Veterans Honor Guard.The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 from 12:30 pm until 1:30 pm.Flowers are optional.
