William "Bill" Claude Vaughn, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at his residence. Born in Walhalla, SC, he was the son of the late John Butler Vaughn and the late Esther Slater Vaughn. He was a graduate of Walhalla Boys School and proudly served his country in the United States Navy for 4 years during the Korean Conflict. Bill worked at Owens Corning Fiberglas for many years. He is survived by his children, David Vaughn, of Anderson, SC, Barbara Vaughn, of Anderson, SC, Gini Fountain and her husband Todd, of Fountain Inn, SC and Mary Anne Vaughn and Martin Rodriguez, of Anderson, SC; a special friend, Patricia Landers and her children, Dawn Copeland, Tina Brown, and Neal Landers; a brother, Roy Edward Vaughn and his wife Marjane, of Ogden, UT; a sister, Ruby Whitworth, of Seneca, SC; and seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Helen Plonka Vaughn; and two sisters, Jane and Ruth. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church on Saturday, February 28, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Michael P. Jones, OFM officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Saturday, prior to the service, at The McDougald Funeral Home, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. At other times the family will be at the home of Mary Ann Vaughn.
