William Francis White, 77, of Anderson, SC, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at Rainey Hospice House surrounded by family. He is survived by his loving wife, Pamela "Pam" Palmer White; son, Commander William Russell White and wife Beth White, of Jacksonville, FL; daughter Karen White Shary and husband Dr. Thomas Michael Shary, of San Antonio, TX; brother, David White of Rock Hill, SC; sister and brother in law, Mary Elizabeth and Jim Speer of Anderson, SC; and grandchildren, Nathan White (7), Grace White (6), Connor White (1), Thomas Shary (4) and Eliza Shary (2), along with many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins. Bill was a loving and proud husband, father, grandfather, uncle, neighbor and friend to everyone he met.Born December 26, 1942 in Anderson, SC, he was a son of the late James L. White and Mary Altman White. Bill was a 1961 graduate of Anderson Boys High and worked as a department manager for Walmart before retirement. A proud Army veteran, Bill served time in Anchorage, Alaska during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Bill loved all things music and dancing, military history and aircrafts. His exuberant personality and booming voice could lighten any room. He could be seen frequently mowing his beloved yard and talking about the weather at great lengths or shagging the night away at the Anderson Block Parties. His greatest and most proud accomplishment was becoming "Mr. Mom" to his two children after the passing in 1991 of his late wife, Ruth Klinstiver White. Bill loved talking about his treasured children and grandchildren. He will be sorely missed by all that were blessed to know him. The family will greet friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at The McDougald Funeral Home. The memorial service will be held at Grace Episcopal Church, 711 S. McDuffie St., Anderson, SC, on Thursday, January 30th at 11:30 am with Father Jack Hardaway officiating, followed by interment with military honors at M.J.
