William Ray Willis, age 71, of Sandy Springs, SC, passed away Monday, November 22, 2021, at his home. Born November 20, 1950, in Anderson, he was the son of the late Jefferson Tillman Willis and Ruby Head. William was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Vietnam War. He was retired from Culp Woven Velvets after 30 years with the company as a supervisor of the warping and beaming department. He loved fishing, NASCAR racing and watching the Clemson Tigers play. But most of all, he loved his family and would do anything for any one of them. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grands. He is survived by his daughters, Sonya Fuller (Johnny) and Tonya Huff (Michael) both of Anderson; step daughter, Robin McElhannon (John) of North Augusta; step son, Tommy Jones, Jr. of Inman; brother, Nolan Willis (Whitney) of Anderson; sister, Beatrice Rollins of Pendleton; grandchildren, Corey Fuller (Addison), Ashley Wilson (Justin), Lea Huff, and Allie Fuller all of Anderson; step grandchildren, Kaley Swayka (Andy) of Germany, Kierstyn McElhannon (Heath Cox) of Pendleton, and John M. McElhannon, Jr. of Statesboro, GA; great grandchildren, Landon Wilson and Everly Wilson both of Anderson; and step great grandchildren, Brynlee, Jayden, Peyton Swayka of Germany, Cameron Revere of Pendleton, and Julia Quinn Cox of Pendleton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bud, Tillman "Bone", and Robert Willis; and sisters, Louise Haggerty, Shirley Whitman, Jean Brown, Edna Roper, and Pat Gaines. The family will receive friends Friday, November 26, 2021, from 11:30-12:30 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm in the Chapel with Rev. Scott Lollis officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens in Clemson.
