William Charles Wilson, age 79, of Anderson, passed away at his residence on Friday, February 20, 2015. Born in Anderson on January 28, 1936, he was the son of the late Otis Leon Wilson and the late Emma Julia Bailey Wilson. Following his graduation from Anderson's Boys High School, he attended Clemson University. He proudly served his country in the US Army, where he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. For over twenty years, Mr. Wilson was the owner and operator of Gables Clothing Store on the square in downtown Anderson. Survivors include his two daughters, Lisa Elaine Wilson and her fiance, Eric Hobbs, of Charleston, and Marla Wilson Pietrowski and her husband, Jim, of Anderson; a brother, Bob L. Wilson and his wife, Hannalore of Hartsville, SC; a sister, Carol W. Linnon and her husband, Chris, of Canton, GA; a granddaughter, Jessica Wilson Parks, and her fiance, Scott Dence, of Charleston; an uncle, F. O. Bailey and his wife, Nell, of Anderson; and an aunt, Eleanor Bailey Grant of Anderson. He has a number of wonderful nieces, nephews, and cousins that are too numerous to name. A Graveside Service to celebrate and honor the life of Mr. W. Charles Wilson will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Old Silver Brook Cemetery in Anderson, with Rev. Ray Grant officiating. The family will receive friends at Mr. Wilson's Whitehall Road home following the service.
