Willie Claire Harris Bowen, 87, of Anderson, SC passed away at AnMed Health Medical Center on Friday, November 16, 2018. Born in Anderson on July 26, 1931, she was married to the late David Oliver Bowen, Jr. and was a daughter of the late Cope Harris and the late Annie Greenway Harris. For many years, she owned and operated a hair salon and was a member of Temple Baptist Church. Left to cherish her memory, is her daughter Caturah Deanhardt and her husband, Kenneth, of Anderson, SC; sons, John Mark Shiflet, of Pendleton, SC and Timothy Owen Shiflet and his wife Deborah of Hartwell, GA; brother, Bob Harris of Hartwell, GA; grandchildren, David Deanhardt, Kensley Deanhardt, Katlin Harper, Kylie Deanhardt, Drake Deanhardt; and great-grandchild, Mason Deanhardt. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son, Harris Shiflet; brothers, Jimmy Harris and Tommy Harris; sisters, Berta Fuller, June Thomason, Anne Tomsic, Peggy O'Barr, and Bobby Joe Harris. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at the at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held in the chapel at 2:00 pm with Reverend Larry Pearson and Reverend Claude Dykes officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
