WILLIE HOWARD November 26, 1922- August 29, 2007IVA, SCMrs. Willie Laura Osborne Howard, age 84, of 9324 Highway 81 South, Iva, SC, wife of the late Hodges Augustus 'Yank' Howard, died Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.Born in Anderson, SC on November 26, 1922, Mrs. Howard was a daughter of the late David Felton Osborne Sr., and Flora Lewis Osborne. She was a graduate of Iva High School and attended the Carolina School of Commerce and Anderson School of Beauty Culture. She was the retired owner and operator of Willie's Beauty Shop on Highway 81 in Iva. Mrs. Howard was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star and attended Good Hope Baptist Church.Survivors include her son, Chuck Howard and his wife, Sandy of Anderson; her daughter, Gail Howard of Iva; brother, David Felton Osborne, Jr., and his wife, Mary Frances of Iva; six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her special niece, Sara Joyce Metz of Iva, who was like a sister to her. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Louise Osborne Shaw, Mary Lois Osborne Metz and Clyde Osborne Evans.The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 31, 2007 at Noon in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with the Reverends Jerry Gray and Curtis Bundy officiating. Interment will follow in Iva City Cemetery.The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, August 30, 2007 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.The family will be at the residence.Flowers are optional.
