Greenville Street, Anderson, SC, wife of the late Embry L. 'Red' Metcalfe, died on Wednesday, January 11, 2005 at NHC Healthcare of Anderson.Born in Starr, South Carolina on July 29, 1917, Mrs. Metcalfe was a daughter of the late Harold J. Strickland and Elizabeth Rainey Strickland. She was retired from Bobby Dan Manufacturing Company as a supervisor and was a member of Forest Hill Baptist Church.She is survived by a son, Chester Metcalfe and his wife, Sandra Barrett Metcalfe of Anderson, SC; two grandchildren, Chad Metcalfe and his wife, Tasha and Gregory Metcalfe and his wife, Robbie, all of Anderson, SC and two great-grandchildren, Parker and Carys.In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Strickland and seven sisters, Nell Strickland, Berta Strickland, Rebecca Burriss, Annie Strickland, Fannie Ruth Strickland, Lois Strickland and Mary Strickland.A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2006 at 2:0 pm at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Anderson, officiated by the Reverend Dean Weaver.The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Friday, January 13, 2006 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.The family will be at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Chester Metcalfe, 131 Bowen Road, Anderson, SC.Memorials may be made to Forest Hill Baptist Church, 909 Plantation Road, Anderson, SC 29621 or Concord Baptist Church, 1012 Concord Road, Anderson, SC 29625.
