Willie Mae Gilstrap Poole Anderson, SC Willie Mae Gilstrap Poole, age 91, of Anderson, passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2014, at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late Charles Felton Gilstrap and the late Arlie Mae Stone Gilstrap. She worked at Anderson Memorial Hospital for over 25 years. Willie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was one of the founding members of First Assembly of God, now known as Freedom Center, at which she was a member for over 40 years. She is survived by her children, Rufus Poole, Jr. and his wife Barbara, of Anderson, SC, Charles Poole and his wife Sheryl, of Anderson and Carolyn Rish, of Iva, SC; two sisters, Ruth McConnell, of Irmo, SC and Sybil Jones, of Charleston, SC; eight grandchildren, Scott Poole, Tasha Poole, Brent Poole, Amy Poole Conklin, Chasidy Poole, Travis Rish, Mandy Rish and Heather Mitchell Johnson; and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Edgar Poole, Sr., a daughter, Teresa Poole Mitchell; a sister, Avis Cleveland; a brother, Charlie Gilstrap; and a son-in-law, Lee Roy Rish. The Graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Old Silver Brook Cemetery with Reverend Phillip Sears officiating. The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Saturday, prior to the service from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. Flowers will be accepted.
