WILLIE EDWARD SWANEY May 5, 1933 - October 6, 2013 PENDLETON, SC Willie Edward Swaney, age 80, of 834 Greenville Street, Pendleton, SC, passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2013, at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born in Pendleton, SC, he was the son of the late James Swaney and the late Ruzelle Mize Swaney. He was the owner and operator of Swaney's Service Station on Mechanic Street in Pendleton. He was a member of Fants Grove Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving wife, Opal Mize Swaney, of the home; a son, Wayne Swaney and his wife Donna, of Pendleton, SC; a daughter, Elaine Williams, of Pendleton, SC; four grandchildren, Jason Williams and his wife Summer, of Pendleton, SC, Jenna King and her husband Justin, of Clemson, SC, Jamie Swaney, of Pendleton, SC and Josh Swaney and his wife Tammy, of Antreville, SC; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles Swaney and his wife Marie of Pendleton, SC; a sister, Nellie Durham of Anderson, SC; and a sister-in-law, Evelyn Swaney, of Pendleton, SC. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, J.V. Swaney; and a brother-in-law, Morris Durham. The Funeral Service will be held at Fants Grove Baptist Church on Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at 2:00 PM with Reverends Robert Castro, Edward Bryson, Jimmy Clark and Josh Hensley officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens in Clemson, SC. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Flowers will be accepted.
