Willie Mae Gillespie Wilson, age 85, of Anderson, SC, passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at NHC Healthcare Anderson. She was born August 7, 1935, in Pendleton, SC, and was the daughter of the late Dewey Gillespie and Margie Roach Gillespie. She was the widow of Pete Wilson. Willie Mae's greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of Fants Grove Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Robinson (Steve) of Anderson; grandchildren, Tonya Crocker (Johnny) of Anderson, Deanna Knippel (Jason) of Columbia, Kayla Apsey of Anderson, Krystin Lindley (Allen) of Anderson, Kevin McCurry (Jennifer) of Anderson, Rick Elliott (Tabitha) of Anderson, Jody Elliott of Anderson, and Robbie Elliott of Anderson; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her children, Jeffrey Apsey, Margie Daniese Apsey and Jeannie Elliott. The family will receive friends Friday, August 6, 2021, from 6:00-8:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. No service is planned.
