WILLIS HART February 14, 1914 - August 19, 2013 IVA, SC Willis Matthew "Paw Paw" Hart, age 99, of Iva, SC, went to be with his Lord on Monday, August 19, 2013. He was the devoted husband of 77 years to Carrie Lee Newby Hart until her death in June of 2012. Born in Anderson County, he was the son of the late Lonnie Hart and the late Ella Elgin Hart. He retired, after many years of service, from textiles. Willis was an avid gardener and enjoyed helping others with small building projects. He was a charter member of Iva First Assembly of God and served in various ministries, especially the building and grounds. A loving father and grandfather, he is survived by his three daughters, Wilma Hart, Nellie Ruth "Sis" Hart and Joyce Driver and her husband Jackie, all of Iva; two granddaughters, Marie (Spanky Summerall) and Lynne (Tim Turner); eight great-grandchildren, ten great-great grandchildren; and three sisters, Bertha Burdette, Ruth Elgin and Alice Weller; In addition to his parents, and his spouse, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert Lee, Louis and Sam Hart; and one sister, Carrie Taylor. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2013, at 4:00 PM at the Iva Pentecostal Holiness Church with Reverend Thomas Hart, Reverend Phillip Hart and Reverend Billy Pinson officiating. Interment will follow at the Iva City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Daniel Powell, Spanky Summerall, Bobby Latham, Jamie Cornwell, Glenn Luker and Samuel Hart; Honorary Escorts will be Sergei Turner, Taylor Lewis and Andrew Powell. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
