WILMA H. COCHRAN May 14, 1921 - July 31, 2012 Mrs. Wilma Hillhouse Cochran, age 91, of the Presbyterian Community in Clinton, SC, formerly of Anderson, entered the Church Triumphant on Tuesday, July 31, 2012. Born in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late Robert C. Hillhouse and the late Rosalee Todd Hillhouse. For nearly 60 years, Wilma was the devoted wife of Fred Holmes Cochran, Sr., until his death in 1999. A graduate of Girls High School in Anderson, she is probably most known as the founder and owner of Cochran Shoes, which she established in 1958. Wilma was in the store daily until 2009. She was a devoted member of Central Presbyterian Church, where she taught in the Sunday School program and enjoyed her frequent travels with the Centralites. Survivors include two granddaughters, Carol Anne Cochran Barnes and her husband, Austin, of Clinton, SC, and Laura Lynn Cochran Starnes and her husband, Jason, of Anderson; two great grandsons, Jon and Hamp Barnes of Clinton; daughter-in-law Carol Cochran Stokes and her husband Al, of Anderson. Other surviving family members include many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are two special families, the James Lindley family and the John Pruitt (Carrie) family who were like grandchildren to Mrs. Cochran. Mrs. Cochran was preceded in death by her beloved husband, and her son, Fred "Freddie" Holmes Cochran, Jr., brothers Joe Hillhouse and Harold Hillhouse; sisters, Beatrice Hillhouse and Bobbye Burriss; nieces Ann Wingate and Vicki Hillhouse; and nephew Ron Hillhouse. Funeral Services celebrating the life of Mrs. Wilma Cochran will be held at the Central Presbyterian Church on Thursday, August 2, 2012, at 1 PM, with Dr. David J. Bailey officiating. A time of visitation with the family will follow the service at the church fellowship hall. A private service of committal will be held in the Mausoleum Chapel of Forest Lawn Memorial Park following the visitation.
