Wilma Gentry Wall, age 83, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2016, at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Iva, SC, on February 15, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Samuel "Sam" Clayton Gentry and the late Rosella Rice Gentry. She was a graduate of Iva High School and a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. Wilma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She made friends easily and knew no strangers. Wilma was an inspiration to all of her Facebook friends who she counseled regularly. She was feisty and a true Southern lady. Wilma read her Bible daily and loved the Lord. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Melvin Wall; children, Ronald "Ronnie" Wall (Ronda), Randall "Randy" Wall, and Melanie Wall Gunnels (Steve); a sister, Elaine Hubbard; five grandchildren, Chris Gunnels, Robbie Gunnels, Kristy Wall McKellar, Summer Wall Griffith and Chase Wall; 10 great-grandchildren, Brooke Gunnels-Wilbanks, Drew Gunnels, Brayden and Lucas Gunnels, Malory and Maddox Griffith, Kaleigh Henry, Kennedy McKellar, and Logan Kirby, and Austin Kirby-Davenport,: two nieces: Jeannie Terry Dyar and Kathy Hubbard Tucker, and two nephews: Bobby Barksdale (Elaine) and Mike Gentry (Michelle). In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew Kirby; one great granddaughter: Ayva Rose Gunnels; a brother, Cohen Anthony Gentry; and two sisters, Helen Gentry Barksdale and Doris Gentry Holiday. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 3rd, 2016at 1:00pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Reverends Danny Hawkins and Glenn Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery. The Wall family will receive friends from 6:00pm-8:00pm on Tuesday, August 2nd, 2016 at the funeral home.
