December 16, 1923 - January 28, 2011ANDERSON, SCWilton Clayton 'Dub' Moore, Jr., age 87, husband of the late Hazel Allen Moore of Long Branch Community, died Friday, January 28, 2011 at the AnMed Health Medical Center.Born in Hart County, GA on December 16, 1923, Mr. Moore was a son of the late Wilton Clayton Moore, Sr., and Ethel Holbrook Moore. He was a United States Navy World War II veteran and was employed with BASF as a textile mechanic for over fifteen years. He was a member of Long Branch Baptist Church.Survivors include his children: Laura Kernels of Greensboro, NC, Stephen Heggood of Anderson; Susan Bates and her husband, David of Atlanta, GA and Margaret Hicks and her husband, Donald of Anderson, SC; brothers, Kenneth Moore and 'Bo' Joseph Moore; sisters, Ruth Moore, Carolyn Moore and Beth Moore, all of Hartwell, GA; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Curtis, James, and Louis Moore.The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 31, 2011 at 1:00 pm at Long Branch Baptist Church officiated by the Reverend Wayne Watson and grandson, Reverend Ross Kelly. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.The family will be at the home of his daughter, Margaret Hicks, 505 Rantowles Road, Anderson, SC and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Sunday, January 30, 2011 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
