WINIFRED TOLLISON NELSON March 7, 1922 - December 29, 2008ANDERSON, SCMrs. Winifred Tollison Nelson, age 86 of Anderson, wife of the late Franklin Sly Nelson, passed away on Monday, December 29, 2008 at NHC Health Care in Anderson.Born in Oconee County, SC on March 7, 1922, Mrs. Nelson was a daughter of the late James Henry Tollison and Leila Mae Chandler Tollison. She was a 1939 graduate of Seneca High School and retired from Owens Corning Fiberglas with 25 years of service. She was a member of Canaan Baptist Church.Survivors include her children: Frankie N. Parnell and her husband Jerry of Anderson; Don W. Nelson and his wife, Trish of Iva; Michael H. Nelson and his wife, Vickie of Anderson; Sylvia N. Langston and her husband, Dan of Liberty; Sandra N. Shiflet and her husband, J. D. of Laurens. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters.The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 1, 2009 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverends Jerry Parnell and J. D. Shiflet. Interment will follow in South Lawn Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.The family will be at their respective homes.Memorials may be made to Canaan Baptist Church, 1834 S.
