Zada Beth Gamble Wood, age 87, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at NHC Healthcare Anderson.

Born April 13, 1937, in Clovis, NM, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Gamble and Fannie Gail Harris Gamble. She was married to Willie Turner Wood, Sr. for 60 years until his death in 2016. She was also preceded in death by her brothers and sisters.

Zada was a devout Christian who loved telling others about Christ and taught Sunday School for many years. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church. She never met a stranger and enjoyed talking to people. She and her husband were the owners of Wood Heating and Air, and she was the first president of the Anderson Charter Chapter of the American Business Women's Association. Her favorite pastime was creating beautiful floral arrangements. Zada was a kind and loving soul who loved her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Turner Wood (Kathryn); daughters, Virginia Trado (David) and Laura Webb (Drew); six grandchildren, Tabitha Merritt, Spearman Trado, Kelsey Wood, Mary Kate Wood, Addison Webb, and Aden Webb; and six great grandchildren, Casey, Zoe, Charley, Ava, and London Merritt, and Tillman Trado.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, November 4, 2024, at 3:00 pm at Temple Baptist Church with Dr. Steve Hurte officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service beginning at 1:30 pm.
